I used to have manual coffee maker. I didn’t buy it. I inherited it from my brother. He left it when he moved out of the house. I really wasn’t a fan of the coffee brewer so this manual coffee maker got me curious. It was a very simple manual coffee maker. It was a single cup manual coffee maker so it just had the cup, the carafe, and the filter. First place the carafe on the cup or mug. Then place the filter in the carafe. Then add the ground coffee in the filter-lined carafe. Pour hot water into the carafe and watch the coffee drip. Make sure that the water does not spill or overflow the cup or mug.
Before the manual coffee makers, my family was crazy about instant coffee. Since we were small it was instant coffee. Quite often when my father and I go out, we would order coffee, and of course coffee was always brewed. I loved the taste of brewed coffee. But since I was still young I don’t have access to great tasting flavorful brewed coffee. Until so many years later, my older brother’s friend gave him the manual coffee maker as a gift. And as the story goes, he left it when he moved out of the house. Then history made its mark.
I will never forget the very first time a brewed coffee using those manual coffee makers. I got the coffee maker out and washed it. I then went to the supermarket and got filters and ground Arabica coffee. When I got home, I followed the instructions on how to use the coffee maker. Oh, the aroma. The taste was wonderful.
I now have an electric coffee maker. It brews about 12 cups of coffee. I only use that when we have guests and visitors in the house. But you see, after ten years of brewing, I still have my manual coffee makers with me.
